I am extremely great full for my kitty cats. Actually for all cats, the way they meow in that beautiful perfect meow of theirs. Cats are just simply wonderful. Unlike a dog, cats are very independent. When we go on vacation, or away for the weekend, we just leave our cats and they are perfectly fine. Cats just have a way to them, they are elegant while being wild and crazy all at the same time.
Can I just point out that I have five cats, and there is not one thought in my mind that five is enough. My oldest cat, Mickey, we got because we were foster parents for animals back in Mississauga and we just fell in love with him. Mickey has been with us since he was a kitten and now hes 13 in human years. Hes afraid of storms because when he was born he was abandoned outside, having to live in terrible weather. Hes a black cat with slick fur and a white patch on his chest. Right now hes having eye problems and hes becoming blind in his right eye. He grooms our other cats and acts as a father figure to them.
My next cat is my only girl cat, Sophie. She too is a black cat, except no white patch. Sophie hates new people and will hide. In fact this year was the first year she would even come out for my grandparents, and they come over all the time. We got Sophie from the Toronto humane society along with her brother Jayden. He was a brown tabby, cute little thing, but sadly he passed a few days after we adopted him. He had to be put down because he was super sick. I feel like that is why it took her a long time to open up to us because in her mind, we took her family away. However she loves us now, and her favorite thing is getting her belly rubbed.
The next cat we got, also one of my personal favorites, if I'm aloud to say that, is my fat cat Jayden. We got him after Sophie's brother died and named him in honor. He is black and white, and big boned. Jayden is defiantly our fattest cat. My mom refuses to weigh him because she is afraid to what he will weigh. I swear we feed our cats well. Jayden is the cutest little, or I guess big, thing. He loves attention, loves it. He plays fetch like a dog with his pom poms, and when your sleeping he will claw at your door all night because he wants to play. He is also epileptic, and I remember the first time he had a seizure, we thought he was choking. We took him to the vet when it passed and yeah, that's when we found out what really happened. He hasn't had a seizure in a long time, and thank god for that.
Ozzy is our next cat. His name started as Oscar, but we enjoyed calling him Ozzy. Now you may think that little Ozzy bear was love at first sight. Oh the beautiful tabby cat sitting in the window. "Mommy we need him in our lives!" But no. We kinda sorta took him... from our neighbors. Well I did. Every night he would jump out of the second floor window and come to our back door. To be fair, it was because he wasn't neutered and we had a girl cat etc... but they also had a big aggressive dog, and that is no environment for a kitten. So one day when my friends were over, I saw him sitting on their lawn. I walked over picked him up, then... left. Now it's not stealing because we took him to the humane society and gave them a few days to pick him up, they never did. So little Ozzy was all ours.
My final cat, for now, is little Beau. Hes only 18 weeks old and so cute. I was over at Mack's birthday party when my parents were late picking me up. They said is was because Jayden was sick and they had to take him to the vet. When I got into the car, I looked inside the cat carrier, expecting to see my fat baby, but instead I saw a blue kitten with beautiful green eyes staring up at me. I was so confused, but my mom explained how they saw him, fell in love then got me a kitten. Ozzy, our former trouble maker, is like a big brother to little Beau. He grooms him and plays with him. Having a kitten in the house is so much fun. There is never a moment of silence.
So yeah, maybe you could say my family is obsessed with cats, but how can you not? My mom and I are both allergic to cats, but who cares, I am an only child, so not only am I their "mother"but also their "sister". Cats are just the best, and when people say anything less, well don't listen to them because their wrong.
